Kelly Fielding: What are you offering at the Byron Spirit Festival this March ?

HarJiwan: I am presenting two transforming Kundalini Yoga workshops – both will include dynamic asanas & movement, breath technology, mantra & chanting, mudra, meditation, rhythm, music, prayer and deep relaxation – two beautiful journeys in which to experience the bliss and ecstasy of Kundalini shakti rising. Open to everyone.

KF: Do you feel that the festival is an accurate reflection and celebration of what the Byron Shire encompasses and stands for ?

HJ: Yes, the festival is a beautiful joyous gathering focusing on spirituality, awakening, love, peace, community, consciousness, acceptance of one another ~ all paths and honouring of ancient ways. It is diving into a nurturing pool of connection, celebration, fun, laugher and oneness.

KF: What do you feel people from outside of Byron that visit the festival take away with them ?

HJ: They take away with them a renewed and deepened connection to their own spirit. Inspired, lighter and more inner peace. It reminds me of a quote from Mahatma Gandhi: “I honour the place in you where the entire universe resides.. A place of light, of love, of truth, of peace, of wisdom. I honour the place in you where when you are in that place and I am in that place there is only one of us.”

KF: If you had one message to share with the guests what would that be ?

HJ: YOU are a divine, sacred, beautiful Soul – drop all that is not you. Empty yourself and let the universe come to you.

KF: What does ‘spirit’ mean to you ?

HJ: Spirit is Life – breath, light, the omnipresent, everlasting, ever-existing vastness and very pulse of the cosmos that lives and breathes in each of us and expressed through us as the creative dance of Life.

KF: How important do you feel these kinds of events are and why ?

HJ: I feel these events are vital in the busy full lifestyles that people lead to take the time and space to connect with their own Soul. It provides the sacred opportunity; together with the nurturing healing vibration of Byron Bay and the festival, to let-go, re-connect within and remember who thy self is. And for those who have a daily spiritual practice it is simply pure joy to feel the presence of many souls meditating, singing, dancing, praying, doing yoga together – it develops the beauty of group consciousness and unity. It gives the space for unlocking minds and pure ‘experience’ of many paths in one weekend and location.

KF: What is one event/class/lecture you are looking forward to attending at the festival ?

HJ: Oh… I LOVE music so the evening music events for sure. Sat Nam.
