Start:
5pm
Info:
http://www.hammerandhand.com.au/
Venue:
1/4 Ti Tree Place, Arts & Industry Estate, Byron Bay
About: Hammer and Hand’s latest exhibition is taking a literary, indeed poetic slant, with members of the collective finding inspiration from the words of the South Australian poet,Graeme Catt.  His poem,  “The inverted world”, lists a reversal of situations where anything is possible: “the sky flies in the bird” to “the mind drifts across a thought” and it is these possibilities that have been given a visual representation in metal by the artists.

Works are pretty affordable too, starting at $65 for small, mixed media works and around $400 for oil paintings.”

About:
If you ever wondered about where your Prince Charming has gone, why that frog never became a prince when you braved all good sense and Kissed it – then Twisted Tales is for you. By projecting fairytales into a modern paradigm Yunyu [a former triple j unearthed winner] takes them far far away from the benign stories we knew as children, corrupting everyone from Alice in Wonderland and Bluebeard to the Pied Piper and Pinocchio. Twisting the stories into songs, Yunyu meshes them with contemporary animation and manga art to give a whole new meaning to Disney on ice.
