David Roland has a PhD in clinical psychology. He is the author of ‘How I Rescued My Brain: a psychologist’s remarkable recovery from stroke and trauma (Scribe) and the host of Compassion in Action
He is an Honorary Associate with the School of Medicine, University of Sydney. David is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a founder of Compassionate Mind Australia. He has published in The Best Australian Science Writing 2015 (New South), Rolling Stone and Wellbeing magazines, and has been featured in Good Weekend Magazine and the Newcastle Herald. He has been interviewed for national and local radio including Conversations with Richard Fidler and has appeared on ABC TV and Channel Ten. David is the winner of The National Stroke Foundation's Creative Award, 2015. He is a public speaker, musician and advocate for the National Stroke Foundation. He has developed a workshop called Writing as Therapy.
